So my room mate seems to be pretty much deaf when she sleeps and I'm wondering if this is even possible? Her alarm clock will go off in the EARLY morning, wake me up, and yet she doesn't move. It continued going off for 5 minutes before I decided to turn it off myself and knocked over a bottle on my table across the room from her in the process. THIS (plastic bottle falling off the table) woke her up, so why doesn't the alarm? This is a continuous occurrence and it's really pissing me off.
How should I discuss this with her w/o sounding like a total jerk, and even if it seems like there isn't a way to solve it? |

Unusual sounds tend to wake people up. The bottle falling over isn't normal whereas she hears the alarm all the time. Switching up the alarm, both the loudness and tune, should help a lot. |

I'm a senior in high school and will soon be going to college. I was considering going to my local 4 year university instead of moving off right away. My local 4 year university has low SAT and GPA acceptance scores. This is of great concern to me. I plan to spend 2-4 years at this local university and I am afraid that another university will not accept me from my local one. I am a GA merit scholar and have been getting many college letters in the mail and my heart hurts somewhat when I receive them. I don't want to go move from home right away, I just don't want to make a mistake. I work hard in school and I don't want people to judge me poorly for going to a university with those low SAT/GPA scores.
Does this really matter in the long run? Would it hurt me to spend some years at this university and would I be able to successfully transfer to another in the state? I hope so...
I'm just very worried. I've been worried for quite sometime. Sometimes I think, "Why have I been trying so hard in school if I'm going to a school that will accept just about anyone?" But I also wouldn't want to go to an expensive private college where I would feel uncomfortable. And I don't need any one to tell me that I should just 'try' going there, because I know that I will be very distraught going to a private school right out of high school. I want a good education, that's all. Do you think this is a good path to take? Going to a local university, then transferring? Is undergrad really important? |

A university with a lower SAT and GPA acceptance score requirement doesn't mean that it isn't a good place to get a good education. The same is true for schools with high SAT and GPA acceptance score requirements, too. Undergrad is important, but it's more about what you do during that time and not so much where you did it at. Most of the people who get accepted to these schools don't make it past 2 years, the smart ones survive. So even if you didn't transfer and graduated from your local uni, that tells employers something about you. |

You should put out-of-state until you are granted residency. |
